Received Master’s degree in Information Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven (DAE) in 2018.

Ishtar Hsu's creative process is filled with mystery and inner struggle, which is pronounced in her work. She chooses not to provide clear explanations, as she believes her creations express themselves without words. For Ishtar, art is not about imposing meaning or storytelling, but rather about engaging in a conversation with the materials. She strives to maintain the purity of this dialogue, enabling her to hear the voices originating from within the materials. Her work goes beyond merely picturing still life; it serves as a reflection of her inner world, replete with voices, textures, and dynamic exchanges.

Her art is characterized by tearing, cutting, and reconstructing, which reflects the inner conflicts while showcasing her unique understanding of still life—defying simple definitions. Her art is not confined to a still aesthetic; instead, it exudes energy and provokes. For Ishtar, creating art is both a painful experience and a methodology of release. Each piece's development is a journey, guiding her through the fog of self-doubt. Even though the answers might be hard to reach, she continues to explore and advance.
